Autism Statistics Say It All

The statistics say it all….

  • Ten years ago, there was only 1 in 10,000 kids being diagnosed with autism.
  • Today, it’s 1 in 150 in some reports; 1 in 75 in others.
  • Approximately 1 in 6 kids today has some kind of neurological disorder, such as ADD, ADHD, PDD, Asperger’s, dyslexia, etc.
  • The economic impact is estimated to be somewhere around $90 billion.
  • In 10 years, the annual cost is expected to escalate to $200-$400 billion.

Does that scare you as much as it scares me?

I know I must have read some of these statistics over the years, but I have to be honest.  I didn’t really pay much attention to them.  That is, until my own son was diagnosed with autism too.  I suddenly found myself paying a LOT of attention to those horrifying numbers.

I started spending all of my time researching ways to help my son, and subsequently, ways to help other parents too.  After many thousands of hours of research, I discovered my son didn’t have a genetic form of autism, but a form of regressive autism caused primarily by environmental toxins.  This caused him to have tremendous digestive problems, allergies, bowel issues and neurological issues.  He had severe nutritional deficiencies and very low levels of glutathione, which is the body’s main way to rid itself of toxins and free radicals.  In essence, I had on my hands one very sick little boy.

Flash forward to today.  It’s taken a lot of work and effort, but I’m happy to say that I’ve been able to find my way around this autism spectrum.  More importantly, I’ve been able to help my son find his way back to me.  By getting rid of the bad things in his system and adding in the good things that were missing, I’ve been able to help reduce the rampant inflammation in his little body and bolster his immune system.

I truly believe it is up to us, the parents, to empower, educate and enlighten each other.  You CAN help your children get better.  You just need to take the first step.. and then another.. and then another.
